The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is reporting increased West Nile virus activity across the state, and is investigating numerous suspect cases in humans.  To date in 2016, West Nile virus has been detected in mosquitoes and birds in 32 California counties.  Approximately 600 dead birds and 896 mosquito pools sampled in California this year have been found to harbor the virus.  Additional information on the West Nile Virus in California, as well as an interactive statewide map, can be accessed here.
