On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas announced the schedule for the Special Session of the Assembly. Prior to the convening of an Assembly floor session, the Petroleum and Gasoline Supply Committee will meet for informational hearings on September 18th and 19th. The Committee will then hold a bill hearing on September 26th. The Assembly floor session is scheduled to occur on October 1st. Speaker Rivas also announced the introduction of AB x2-1, which would attempt to reduce the spikes in gas prices in California by increasing crude oil and fuel capacity. As of the announcement on September 11th, seven special session measures have been introduced for action.
